Penn's post got me thinking about how your family has been since you gave them the news. So how about a little poll?
Who is the most excited of your family members (excluding you and DH)?
What was the funniest and/or most emotional reaction you got after sharing the news that you were pregnant?
How about when you shared the sex/gender (if you have)?
Who is the one family member (excluding yourself or DH) that you are most excited to see interact with your LO(s)?
Re: Poll: Family Members
Who is the most excited of your family members (excluding you and DH)? I'll go with my mom. She calls me like 3 times a day now, haha. My FIL though was so excited when we told him that he got drunk at dinner and was buying shots for the family. Lol
What was the funniest and/or most emotional reaction you got after sharing the news that you were pregnant? It's not a family member but it is close enough. I told our friend's 4 year old that there was a baby in my belly and she goes, "Whhaaaatttt??? Get out of town!" I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe. Haha. My mom was the most emotional. She hysterically sobbed on and off for 5 hours while praising Jesus.
How about when you shared the sex/gender (if you have)? We are having a reveal party for just parents and siblings first week of Sept.
Who is the one family member (excluding yourself or DH) that you are most excited to see interact with your LO(s)? Hands down, my dad. He is amazing with my nephews and just so sweet.
What was the funniest and/or most emotional reaction you got after sharing the news that you were pregnant? My sister.
How about when you shared the sex/gender? My 5 year old Nephew. This will be his first boy cousin! He was so happy! He has 5 girl cousins.
Who is the one family member (excluding yourself or DH) that you are most excited to see interact with your LO(s)? My parents. They are wonderful grandparents and I can't wait to see them be able to have much more hands on experiences with their grandchild. They can't do everything they want with the others because they live to far away.
After awhile, you just want to be with the one who makes you laugh. - Mr. Big
Who is the most excited of your family members (excluding you and DH)?
-Every single one of my family members is ridiculously excited, but I think my dad is the most excited. He has been making comments non-stop about how when Adalyn gets here they can do this or that. He loved the name right away and I think since me and him are so close, he's looking forward to getting to know a mini-me. I'm getting all teary just thinking about my daddy.
What was the funniest and/or most emotional reaction you got after sharing the news that you were pregnant?
-Funniest was DHs grandpa. His first question was "So did you miss your period?"...That man is senile.
Most emotional was when I told my grandpa (He is 88 and I think this is his last year here with us...). I started crying when I told him. It was an amazing moment.
How about when you shared the sex/gender (if you have)?
-Funniest was my mom who asked me if I was sure. She thought I was lying because we had both thought for sure it would be a boy. Most emotional was my dad. He also thought I was lying when I told him it was a girl, because that's what he thought it was (but only because he wanted to be different than me and my mom). I could practically see him smiling over the phone.
Who is the one family member (excluding yourself or DH) that you are most excited to see interact with your LO(s)?
-This is a tough one. I'm excited for all of them for different reasons. I can't wait to see little miss with her aunts and uncles, and seeing them interact with their first neice. And I can't wait to see my parents and ILs as first-time grandparents.
Penn - That is an adorable reaction! I love the things kids say. I also think it's hilarious that your FIL did that!
Kanels - I'm glad your LO will have grandparents close by and visa versa. Both of our parents live pretty close (45 minute drive) and I am so thankful for that.
Madeline - That's so sweet that both our dad's are the most excited.
Who is the most excited of your family members (excluding you and DH)?
My dad is super excited, which is odd for him because he's very quiet and doesn't usually show much emotion for anything, he calls me once a week for updates and has already been asking when he can take the baby to the dirt track races.
DH's grandmother is insanely excited, she's been waiting for us to have a baby for years.
What was the funniest and/or most emotional reaction you got after sharing the news that you were pregnant?
Our friends were hilarious, at least 3 of the girls claimed they knew based on pinterest. All of the guys have decided if LO is a boy he's going to be a luchadore (which, I learned later on, is a mexican wrestler).
DH's grandmother cried and told us that this was going to keep her going. She found out right before DH's uncle passed away.
How about when you shared the sex/gender (if you have)?
We've told everyone we're not finding out. Most think it's neat, but a few people have been mortified. They don't get that we just don't want to know and all we want is a healthy baby.
Who is the one family member (excluding yourself or DH) that you are most excited to see interact with your LO(s)?
My dad and our nieces.
My dad loves kids and loves being a grandpa, but unfortunately he doesn't get to see his other grand kids very often. We live close enough that we can get together whenever we want.
We have 4 nieces all 3 and under. We can't wait for them to see the new little one in the family and to watch them grow up together. I didn't have that growing up because my family isn't remotely tight knit - I can't wait to see them all grow up knowing each other.
Who is the most excited of your family members (excluding you and DH)? My mom
What was the funniest and/or most emotional reaction you got after sharing the news that you were pregnant? My MIL teared up, which I've never seen her do before.
How about when you shared the sex/gender (if you have)? n/a
Who is the one family member (excluding yourself or DH) that you are most excited to see interact with your LO(s)? My nieces
Who is the most excited of your family members (excluding you and DH)?
My sister is super excited and DH's sister too!
What was the funniest and/or most emotional reaction you got after sharing the news that you were pregnant?
Hmmm. I'm not sure, probably DH jumping around shouting "I'm a daddy!"
How about when you shared the sex/gender (if you have)?
We shared our baby's sex and name and I swear DH's gma is nuts. Her response "We can find a better name than that... Caroline? and Isabel sounds like a cow..." DH says "Too bad, that is the baby's name, bye"
Who is the one family member (excluding yourself or DH) that you are most excited to see interact with your LO(s)?
My dad! He is so good with babies and kids in general.

Ashley - Your dad sounds like mine. He's not usually super expressive with his emotions, but all he can talk about is how excited he is to meet Adalyn.:)
Spin - I can't wait to hear reactions when you finally do find out what you are having!
GBQ - How awful that she said that! I think it's a beautiful and very classic name. I'm glad your DH stood up to her and that you are both happy with the name. That's all that matters.
Thanks, his gma is a little on the crazy side. If I happen to not wear lipstick somewhere she is like "Go put on some lips girl you look dead" so I am used to her stupid comments.

She does sound crazy. Lol
Who is the most excited of your family members (excluding you and DH)?
this is the first grandbaby on both sides. I am goin to say the grandmas, but lots of excitement!
What was the funniest and/or most emotional reaction you got after sharing the news that you were pregnant?
My mom cried and cried and then she said "you mean I have to wait until August!?" We told them on Christmas by giving them a picture frame. My mom apparently cried for three days until my step dad hid the frame!!
How about when you shared the sex/gender (if you have)?
i gave my mom a "it's a boy" balloon for Mother's Day. She said she thought for sure it wa as girl because I had wrapped it in pink, but it was the only wrapping paper I had. I put a big blue bow on it. Oh well. :-)
Who is the one family member (excluding yourself or DH) that you are most excited to see interact with your LO(s)?
I don't really have one. I think dh and I are excited. Everyone else will just want to hold him a bit. When he gets older. I expect family will be more interactive.
