TTC ?

Hi ladies!

Im just wondering who out there is TTC?! (I'm on my cell phone so I apologize ahead of time if the lining is weird!) if you are pregnant or still waiting to TTC you can still chime in!

- How long have you been trying?

- Were you on BC? How long were you on them before getting off (if applicable lol)? When did you stop taking them?

- What are you doing to aid in conception?

- Any issues you are running into?

- Anything else you want to add that helps me compare my experience with yours!? :):):)

Re: TTC ?

  • - How long have you been trying? :: 1 cycle/month

    - Were you on BC? How long were you on them before getting off (if applicable lol) :: I was on BC pills for 7 years; got off them March 2013

    - What are you doing to aid in conception? :: TMI warning :) - temping, checking CM, sex on 3 of the 5 days in fertile window, staying horizontal after sex instead of jumping up right away (ah still so weird to say after 7 yets of trying not to get pregnant!!)

    - Any issues you are running into? :: I'm already on day 18 of my cycle and my fertile friend app doesn't say I've ovulated yet. I've felt my ovulation pain and my CM was in the "fertile" stage the last two days (not today though)... But it's the first month I've seriously taken notice to all these signs so I have lots to learn still! :)

  • - How long have you been trying? 2 months

    - Were you on BC? How long were you on them before getting off (if applicable lol)? When did you stop taking them? Was on Alesse 21, was on them for 2 and a half years, last pill I took was May 24th

    - What are you doing to aid in conception? Nothing yet really, waiting for my cycles to find their normal...just trying to do it more...

    - Any issues you are running into? Just not sure what my body is doing...never had a regular period before going on BC, and taking a couple months to see if its going to even out or go back to being wonky every month to figure out where to go from there. I'm also hypothyroid so if we don't conceive in a short period of time I will start temping, and have been told to go to the doctor 6-12 months into trying as being hypo there might be some other issues...

    - Anything else you want to add that helps me compare my experience with yours!? :):):)

  • I'm currently pregnant but I will tell you what I did.

How long did I try? About 3-4 months but I started medicine 6 months before getting pregnant so I had to give it 2 months to get into my system

On BC? I was not on BC and hadn't been for years. I'm special and BC never worked for me so I had been off it for years instead of wasting money.

Aid in conception? Temping, checking CM, ovulation tests (helped more than checking CM), more sex, laying flat after sex

Any issues? Go more by what you see and not fertility friend sometimes it would take me getting my period for it to change to the dates I was testing and got positive readings and also it took 2 months or so to get my body on this schedule

Extra: I was/am taking Metformin which has an ability to be a fertility medicine I was taking it for different reasons but H and I believe without we would still be trying today. Just be patient and don't stress if it doesn't happen right away.

  •  How long have you been trying? - about 3? cycles

    - Were you on BC? How long were you on them before getting off (if applicable lol)? When did you stop taking them? - I stopped taking the pill last August, and got a non-hormonal IUD. I got that out in april, and then had almost a 60 day cycle. Seem to have evened out a bit now.

    - What are you doing to aid in conception? - mainly just watching my CM. Trying to have more sex. I had said if I wasn't pregnant by fall i'd start temping. I think i'm going to bump that back to Christmas. I think i have a decent idea of when I ovulate so i'm just going with that for now.

    - Any issues you are running into? - not yet.

  • - How long have you been trying? I got pregnant the 2nd month trying.  I miscarried at 8 weeks and then it took 2 months of trying to get pregnant the 2nd time.

    - Were you on BC? How long were you on them before getting off (if applicable lol)? When did you stop taking them?

I was probably on BC 14-15 years.  Stopped taking it right after the wedding and then used natural family planning until we started trying in November.

    - What are you doing to aid in conception? I started temping right after the wedding to prevent.  Second month of trying we used OPKs.  After my miscarriage I added in checking in CM.  I also used the Fertility Friend app since about a month before the wedding.  The more history you have the more accurate it can track you.

    - Any issues you are running into? After coming off the pill my cycle varied from 26-31 days.  If I didn't track my cycle it would have been harder to conceive.

  • - How long have you been trying? We got pregnant the first month of actually *trying* which meant me temping and charting for almost a year and getting very familiar with signs of ovulation using OPKs and Fertility Friend. And then we decided to actually try during my fertile window and it happened!

    - Were you on BC? How long were you on them before getting off (if applicable lol)? When did you stop taking them? I have never been on BC. And me and my husband never had protected sex or pulled out or anything like that for over three years and didn't get pregnant. Neither one of us thought we could have kids. We both thought we would have to get help at a fertility clinic.

    - What are you doing to aid in conception? Fertility Friend charting, temping every day and recording it using FF, using OPKs, stopped drinking and smoking and did tons and tons of research online to learn how my body works and about how important your timing during ovulation is.

    - Anything else you want to add that helps me compare my experience with yours!? :):):) I definitely agree with tracking your cycle! Mine were not too regular. My cycle average was 36 days. So if it weren't for using Fertility Friend for a year and temping every day and learning everything about ovulating and just your entire cycle and body functions as a women then I don't think I would be preg right now.

I also want to point out that the reason I thought I could not get pregnant was, honestly, I was not the most responsible sexually active women I should have been. Most or all of the boyfriends I had, I never used any type of BC and never got preg. I thought that was insane. Not that I ever tried purposely to get preg by any of them. Just irresponsible. So I would say that I just got VERY lucky since losing my virginity at 16 and now I'm 26 and never getting knocked up and I was never on BC, I think I had every reason to believe I couldn't get pregnant. So I totally believe my pregnancy is kind of a miracle. And FF and temping and learning about how my body works, I believe that's what got me pregnant :)

  •  I have a 6 month old but I'll tell you my story....

    - How long have you been trying?

    We tried for one cycle.

    - Were you on BC? How long were you on them before getting off (if applicable lol)? When did you stop taking them?

I was on BC for about 9 years. I stopped taking them a few weeks before my wedding which was only 2 weeks or so before we got pregnant.

    - What are you doing to aid in conception?

We used PreSeed which is a fertility friendly lube. I don't know how much it helped but it felt like it helped! Lol

    - Any issues you are running into?

When I was pregnant, the doctors swore that they saw Downe's markers on T's ultrasounds. They actually advised me to terminate my pregnancy. H and I decided that this was our child and we would love him anyway God gave him to us. Good thing we didn't terminate the pregnancy because T is a happy and healthy baby! Apparently the "markers" were incorrect.....
