Money Saving Goals for August
My goal for August will be to bring lunch to work, every single working day.
What's yours?
Re: Money Saving Goals for August
Mine is similar to yours. I plan on not buying ANY fast food for the entire month. And also not going to any sit-down restaurants. I told BF that if he wants to go out to a sit-down restaurant, he will have to foot the bill. We normally take turns paying so this is gonna seriously cut back on the amount of times we go out to eat.
But hey, maybe it will help me lose weight
Just to keep saving money towards our house DP and our emergency/savings account. We are halfway there on both!
Same here! I almost always bring lunch to work so working on that won't make much of a dent.
We had the same month as you guys! We are on a strict no-extra-spending budget until September. Ugh. I've already got lots of delicious meals planned, though, and stocked up on lunch stuff for this month (I go back to work tomorrow).
DH is on-board, so this should be pretty easy to keep each other disciplined.
No extraneous spending.
Last month, we had $1,500 in unexpected car repairs (and the car is broken again--they didn't properly fix it), plus $1,000 in home improvement projects. Now one of our cats is in the animal hospital fighting a serious infection ($$$).
And somehow we have to come up with $3,500 for repairs to our condo and another chunk to retain a lawyer to fight the condo association for that money. ETA that fortunately, we have the money in savings, but I don't want to dip into it unless we have to.
Of course, I say the "no extraenous spending" bit within five minutes of buying a $25 baptism gift for one of our friend's daughters. Sigh.
My money goal is to replenish our savings because we are (finally) closing on our house August 1st! It's going to be a little tough because I'm a teacher and I don't get paid in August and my husband is switching jobs. Thankfully we have money left in savings/vacation he will get paid for/no mortgage payment until Oct 1st.
My personal goal is to continue to lose more weight. I'm down 9lbs for July!!
We will not be very MM this month. We are moving into a three bedroom apt. together and are currently in a studio. We are going to be buying things like curtians and minor decorations to make it feel like home. Gotta love living rent free.
As far as savings goes I start a new job at somepoint this month and the goal is to take my pay check and place it into savings and have H match it to save to pay off the next student loan.

Trying not to tap my savings for anything to do with moving costs, cleaning the carpet in my old place or any more "unexpecteds" I keep running into!
I closed on my condo with more in my savings than I anticipated by just a little bit, so I'm going to reward myself once this is all over by taking some to get the rest of my car repainted (oxidized here in the AZ sun - Arizona sunburn, if you will).

august goal: only buy absolute necessities. i quit my job a few months ago to be able to work part time since we just had a baby. until i actually start my new job we will be lucky to make ends meat. i just found out yesterday that i got the job. but am waiting for my schedule based on available clients in my area. hopefully in september we can start repaying people the $ we have had to borrow.
