I had my baby ~2 weeks ago and am ready to dig into a good book on my kindle for late night feedings! Any recs on good ebooks i could get from the library or buy online?
i'm so excited to have a kindle to be able to read in the dark! soooo much better than when i had my first kid in 2009 and had one of those lights to clip on your book!
Re: Book recs
Sign up for Book Bub.com. Each day they send about 10 titles to your inbox...some free, some $0.99-$2.99. You can tell it what you like to read. I've been pretty pleased so far. Some are just "eh" but you can't beat free!
What type of books do you like?
Divergent is a fun series if you are into that (have you read The Hunger Games series? Similar). It's being made into a movie. Anyways I just saw that it was on sale for like $3 as an ebook.
The fault in our stars is really popular and also being made into a movie. It's also on sale right now. Although its an emotional book that I wouldn't want to read post partum! But it's a good deal right now.
I could give more recs if you have a genre you are interested in.
I agree with the Book Bub suggestion. (And also Pixel of Ink). I have more free books than I can probably read in my lifetime. (I just can't not get it if it sounds good and it's free). I got introduced to the "Jack Daniels" series (JA Konrath is the author) from the free books on Book Bub. If you like mystery/crime series, it's a good one. All of the books are named after drinks "Fuzzy Navel", "Bloody Mary", etc.
I don't know if it's available as a kindle book, but one of a my favorite books of all time is "Still Summer" by Jacqueline Mitchard. Also, I recently read "Zoo" by James Patterson and I enjoyed that a lot as well.
Congrats on your new baby!
thanks!
i like books like the hunger games, the help, my sisters keeper, books by wally lamb, joyce carol oates, emily giffin. trying to think what else....
if you like the Hunger Games I definitely suggest the Divergent series. Delirium was pretty good too and the Matched series.
Jodi Piccoult's most recent book sounds good. I have it but haven't read it yet. Have you read more by her other than My Sisters Keeper? I really liked The Plain Truth.
similar to Jodi Picoult, I like Diane Chamberlain. The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes is really good.
I'd also recommend Kate Morton. Forgotten Gardens is good.
For more chick lit type stuff have you read Jennifer Weiner? Have you read Kristen Hannah? Firefly Lane was good. Last summer I read On The Island which was a great light summer read. I just read Me Before You which was a little deeper than chick lit but I really liked it.
Some of my favorite books in ransoms genres: The Book Thief, 11/22/63, The Invisible Bridge, My Name is Mary Sutter. Snowflower and the Secret Fan (Shanghai Sisters by same author was good too),Hotel on the corner of bitter and sweet,The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo series, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.
NPR does a yearly summer reading list. There are quite a few books on it that have caught my interest but I have not read any

Thanks ladies! and i have read the book thief and loved it as well!
The Language of Flowers was the best book I've read so far this year, I'd highly recommend it! I also really loved "The Baker's Daughter" by Sarah McCoy. I just finished Tina Fey's "Bossypants", if you haven't read that, it was really funny!
I'll ditto some of the other author suggestions, like Kristin Hannah and Diane Chamberlain. If you enjoy beach-set books that are fluffy, but also have some substance, I really enjoy Elin Hilderbrandt.
