It's been kinda quiet on here lately. Just wanted to see how everyone's summer has been so far. Anything exciting happen or in the works?
Re: Summer Check In
My summer's been relatively quiet. My 2 nieces are flying in from Scotland in a couple of weeks, so we have a few day trips planned with them. I'm especially looking forward to taking them to Times Square. The day they head back to Scotland, J & I are flying out to Mexico...hoping for good weather even though it's hurricane season.
And as much as I hate to admit it, I'm loving forward to fall. Particularly pumpkin beer and mums. And hoodies.
We bought our house 4 years ago next month. I wish we spent more time looking. We only saw three houses, and went with the first house. At the time, we thought we were lucky to have found a house so easily. Now I can't help but think we could have found a better house for our needs had we spent more time looking. Seriously - three houses??? It's not a game show!
Good luck finding your house
Not a whole lot happening here. We are enjoying the last few week ends of summer at the shore, and will finally stay for one full week at the end of August.
We are contemplating selling our house here in PA, and buying something else in the area. I get the concept my husband has, but it seems like such a huge task that we don't need to take on. I suggested we tackle this throughout the winter, and see what spring brings
Hey ladies!
Work has been super crazy, with issue after issue. I cannot wait until they start draining our pool on Aug. 11. If someone would let me pull the plug today, I'd do it. Just gotta get through this week and next and then it will quiet down a little here, and then on Aug. 16 we leave for vacation finally!
I had the kids in a ton of activities this summer- library storytimes, music classes, swim lessons, etc.- and they are beginning to dwindle- thank goodness! I'm trying to decide what to put them in for the Fall. I have DD enrolled in 2 day a week preschool, but other than that everything is up in the air, since our house situation is questionable.
Speaking of housing, we're officially on the market. Found a house we like but can't make a move until ours sells. Boo. We have a showing scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9am, which is an odd time. Kind of a pain because of course tomorrow we have one car in the shop for maintenance, so DH will have to drop the kids and dogs and me to my dad's on his way to work at 5:30am. Ick. But hopefully something will come of this. Honestly, I don't care either way if we sell/move or not, but I'm way tired of having to keep the house immaculate all the time in case we get a last minute showing, etc. Pain in the butt!
Other than that, DD turns 3 next Thursday! We'll be having a little party with her kid friends this Sunday, and then our immediate families for cake next Thursday. AND I just set out DS's first birthday invites! I can't believe it!
I LOVE pumpkin beer!!!!
I am just counting down the seconds until we go to the beach in a few weeks. I'm so ready to sit around and do nothing... ok well chase after a 14 month old I guess. Hopefully his grandparents (my mom and step dad) and aunt and uncle (my brother) do most of the chasing so I can be lazy!!!
other than that I've been trying to lose weight and work out and cannot stop snacking and eating candy. I swear it's an illness!
It is an illness! Well, not an illness but there's a reason behind it. I've been the same way lately. I'm eating candy, ice cream etc. past the point of being full but I don't stop. For some people, eating snacks/sweets can release dopamine, so you keep on eating. Dopamine is why smokers crave nicotine.
well i feel much better now. I keep blaming it on nursing and the fact that I'm constantly hungry but honestly I would live on icecream and candy if I could.
what is the fix if this is the reason????
