Re: QotD 8/1

  • H's birthday was in January and I took him to a shooting class that taught some safety and then took you back to the range to learn how to load, aim and shoot and MORE safety!!! On our way out, he spotted a knife he wanted so I got it for him. Then I had his closest friend, his then-GF, my mom, her boyfriend, my brother and his girlfriend over for socializing, dinner and cake. It went really well., I did 2 kinds of pulled pork, roasted ranch potatoes and corn. I made him a german chocolate cake with pockets of chocolate mousse and more mousse in the middle with a cool whip frosting. Super delicious. He loved it :)

  • Last year Hs bday was the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and he works in retail so he had to work. MIL & SIL were still visiting from the Holiday so I think they took us out to dinner. The following night I offered to make him whatever he wanted for dinner, which I believe was meatloaf and roasted red potatoes. I also offered to take him out, but he was beat from working so much, so I think we just stayed in a watched a movie.

We don't go overboard for each other's bdays since we're both born near holidays. We usually try and do a nice meal together.

  • DHs bday always falls during County Fair week for us.  I don't remember what we did last year, but I know we went out to eat with my parents and DHs fam on different nights.  We also probably went to the fair at least 3 times.

This year I know we will do the fair one day.  Dinner with His Mom one day and his dad another.  We really don't make a big deal out of it.  Just happens to be a fun busy week for us!

  • We went to dinner at H's favorite place which happens to be a local place. And then that weekend we went shopping and I bought him whatever new tool he was wanting at the time. We didn't do much because it was during the middle of the week and we had a lot going on at the time. I also bought him a cookie cake as it is tradition in his family. His mom got them one every year so to honor her I decided to keep it going as it's the one thing he looks forward to for his birthday.
  • My H's bday is Sept 14th , last year we just re did the basement so to show it off we had a "party" and got him shoes he really wanted.

He already picked out new sunglasses he wants...he going back and forth if he wants to go down the shore or stay local this year...I hope he picks the shore ha

  • H's Bday and mine are only 3 days apart (we were in the same nursery), so we really don't do all that much by means of presents. We usually just pick a place to eat that we save for a special occasion and splurge there.

  • Well, H and I have the same birthday, so we usually get each other a gift and go out to eat.

Then my family will usually take us out or have us over for cake and his family will do the same. So it's usually a 3 day celebration.

This past year, I signed him up for an archery lesson. It's something he always talked about wanting to do but never had.... he loved it  :)

  • H's birthday is in June. This year I took him mini-golfing on Cape Cod at this place that is pirate themed. I love that place! Lol. Then the following weekend we went to his uncle's because he and his cousin's bdays are a few days apart. Usually every year they have a cookout and cake and ice cream. We're not into giving gifts usually. A few years ago I took him to this ropes and zip line course up in Maine. So, we try to do fun things like that instead.
  • My DH's Bday is Sept. 1st last year I made him a card by hand we had just gotten married. since I have know my H I have always made at least 1 thing. My fav. thing I made him was I too fav. pictures of us and put one in the upper left corner and one in the bottom right a i drew 2 hearts over lapping put love in the bottom right corner and our names at the top then I framed it.
