My cat likes to eat dental floss. That's problematic for a lot of reasons, but mostly because she always throws it up. So, we have a trash can in the bathroom with a lid (one of those where you step on lever to make the top pop up). Worked great for almost 3 years.
This morning, I saw her nudge it open with her little nose and dig inside. I shooed her away, and she did it again. And again.
I don't know what to do, aside from bringing our gross used floss downstairs to the kitchen trash can every night. Any suggestions?
Re: Need kitty suggestions
You should be able to find a small trash can with a lid that's not a step can. We have one that you have to push the lid in with your hand. The spring is fairly strong, and our cats - who know how to open all of our closets, the pantry, and the kitchen cabinets - cannot get into it. I think we got ours at Target, but I can't find one like it online. Or is there a cabinet you could put the trash can in?
We had something like that before and the other cat figured out how to tip it over and then pry the whole top off.
They're crafty, I tell you.
Anything you can achieve through hard work, you could also just buy.
