calling for recipes!!!!

Hey Ladies,

Last week i posted about a friend of mine who is moving out on her own and has no furniture.  this week i am posting because i am at a loss for cooking suggestions for her.  she has very few cooking skills and a 2.5 yr old.  any ideas for kid friendly, easy to make recipes that i could compile for her?  i'm thinking of giving her a homemade cookbook for xmas like my mom gave me when i moved out :)

TIA!!!

Re: calling for recipes!!!!

  • Crock pot recipes!!  What i like about them is there really is no cooking skills needed.  With a young child she could get everything together in the morning, let it sit for the day, and eat when they are ready.

The other nice thing is you can  get the crock pot liners so it is really easy clean up.  With just the two of them there would always be leftovers.

She could pack them away in one portion sizes and stick them in the freezer,  them thaw and pop in the microwave for a quick reheat anytime.

  • Just type "kid friendly recipes" in the search and a ton of sites come up. Then you can pick and choose and print them out.

  • www.kraftfoods.com has a ton of easy recipes that should be kid friendly.
  • I would second checking out kraftfoods.com, as well as allrecipes.com and recipezaar.com - all have "kid-friendly" and "easy" options that you can search by, as well as sorting into the most popular recipes.  Slow cooker recipes would also be great, and you can always pick up cheap slow cooker/5-ingredient/easy cookbooks on clearance for less than $5 at Borders or B&N.  Good luck!
  • I'm a completely picky eater, AND I get home at 6:45 every night -- so all my dinners in my blog are basically easy, quick, and kid-friendly. Give it a browse!
