Left this house at 10:30 or so this morning to do some Christmas shopping...got to downtown Auburn and DS got sick in Toomer's Drugstore right by the counter...public apology to those who were eating there...so...I took him to the after hours at our peditrician's office and finally got to see the doc at 2:00....DS has RSV and has to do breathing treatments every 6 hours...so...DH took DS home and he slept until 6:00 or so...meanwhile, I went to Target for his medicine and stocking stuffers and then the grocery store. When I got home, DH was cleaning out in the garage. So I went around the back of the house to get the trash can. Fast forward to 8:15 when I was trying to put DS down for bed after a bath and his breathing treatment when DH came in his room and told me our dogs weren't in the backyard...I had not locked the gate after getting the trash can...AND we had left them out for about 2 hours while we ate dinner and got DS ready for bed...we put DS in the car and went out looking for them around the neighborhood. We came home to put DS to bed before DH went looking again and we had missed a call from a neighborhood about 2 miles away and across a BUSY road...our dogs had just been at their house...so we went over there and found them...I got out of the car in hot pink satin pjs to get them....but at least we found them...I was SOOOOO worried!
Re: LOOOOOONNNNGGGG DAY...
Wow..you DID have a long day! And a stressful one too!
I know how you feel about the dog situation...after we finished dinner and feeding our dogs, DH took them out for a walk and I was putting dessert in the oven when my cell rang and it was his ring tone so I panicked. He was all "get down here RIGHT NOW...I need your help NOW!!" so I flew downstairs only to find him sitting in the parking lot with the dogs around him. Kenzie, one of Poms, kept slipping out her leash. She would never go more than a foot away from us though. I was worried that it was Wrigley, our Pointer, who is a runner. He would have been gone.
