Who all felt the earthquake??

I did! My dogs woke up and started to bark! I saw on facebook that people in Lancaster felt it! I wonder where it originated from! My christmas tree was shaking!

Re: Who all felt the earthquake??

  • We are in Lancaster City and we felt it. My husband had just gotten home from work and we thought someone's oil tank blew up. Everything in our house started shaking. It was an odd feeling. We were both tired and thought we were losing it till we got up for work this am.
  • the whole house rattled ... i thought it mightve been a really big truck driving by, but when it lasted a good 20 seconds i figured it was an earthquake.  DH thought it couldve been a nuclear explosion ... thanks husband.  now i cant sleep.

my first earthquake though.  love the science involved, but it definitely scared me.

  • We felt it in Marietta (between Lancaster and Harrisburg) - well DH felt it while he was watching tv.  I slept right through it! :-)
  • I sure felt it! I still can't believe it. Its my very first earthquake. I was asleep but woke up when it started, then my mom came into my bedroom and started wondering what was going on. We had Matt go outside and talk to the neighbors. We though it was some sort of explosion at first but after inspection and finding nothing wrong we realized what it was. Kinda scary!

  • I did!  We are in Neffsville and felt it just after midnight. It woke me up to feel the house shaking. The dog and the cats ran around.  DH slept until I shook him and asked what was going on.  He didn't really seem to care.  Freaked me out a bit though.

Haha! That made me laugh out loud about the nuclear explosion idea. If there was one I would for sure not be alive to be posting.

I thought it was a REALLY BIG truck at first too, but trucks that big aren't allowed in my neighborhood so I knew it wasn't one.

apparently the nuclear explosion was a reasonable thought ... my stepdad thought the same thing.

i said to DH after we tried to settle back to sleep ... "well, in case i dont wake up, i love you."  DH's response ... "oh we'd already be dead".

    he's so romantic.

  • We did! (And the baby too - she went NUTS in there!!) We thought one of my sibling crashed a car into the side of the house or something because of all of the accidents they've been having latelyTongue Tied
  • We're pretty sure we did--we're at my parents house in Dillsburg still. Just after midnight our nightstand started to shake for about 3 seconds pretty loudly. I thought it was Sadie or our cat. We turned our light on quick and both of them were on the floor at the end of the bed so we knew they didn't touch it. We didn't even realize that there was an earthquake until we had breakfast this morning with the IL's and FIL said it was felt all the way to Mechanicsburg.?

It is so weird how more and more of these have been happening in Central Pa over the past year or so.?

  • I felt it in southern York. I was laying on the couch and knew by the long rumbling what it was....it felt exactly like one I'd been in as a child. My DH was walking up the stairs and didn't feel a thing. Funny...I was the only one in my family who felt the first one I'd been in. I'd been laying on the couch then too!

  • we are in manheim and i thought something hit our townhouse or something expoded at neighbors...it was scary
  • We did - we're only about 2 or 3 miles from the epicenter. I always seem to be at the right place at the right time for earthquakes - this is my third one! One here, one at the beach, and one when I was in Mexico.
  • My DH and I did at my dad and step-mom's house in York.  We were just getting into bed when we started to hear things rattle, and DH said "oh, must be an earthquake".  I told him that no way was it an earthquake, so I was surprised to hear on Saturday that he was right!
