I promise I'm not making this up
We sang Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer at Mass on Christmas Eve.
We had this kinda new-agey (for Catholic) priest, and it was the children's mass. He had all the kids come up front and read a book about a shining star and then we sang Rudolph 'cause he shined also, and then we sang Happy Birthday to Jesus, Full Metal Jacket style.
It was kind of awesome except that there was one song with clapping, and I have a firm no-clapping-songs-in-church rule. But then I was the only one doing the call outs for Rudolph.
I totally thought of you guys.

::waiting:: ::looks around::
What? No one wants to rehash Ruldolph is / isn't religious?
hehe!
my read shelf:
I think that's awesome.
My extremely Catholic MIL, who told me she didn't let her kids believe in Santa because she didn't want them to be disillusioned (along with something about "how do you explain why Santa doesn't visit the poor kids?"), would have been livid, I bet.
Sigh. I would have loved to have taken her to that mass.
