I already took my tree down...

Yesterday morning.  I just wanted my house back to normal and was tired of all the Christmas stuff being out.  I have a few more things to put away yet.  It was amazing how spacious my living room felt without the tree up!!

Re: I already took my tree down...

  • I can't wait to take our tree down and put my new ladder shelf up! But my dad really wants to see our house decorated for Christmas and they are coming over on Saturday for dinner to see it so I have to wait until then to take everything down. I'll probably leave a few winter things out, but everything else will go away.

  • I wanted to take ours down today but my DH made a slight protest when I mentioned it.  So I guess we will wait until after New Year's or do it on New Year's Eve.   It is funny though because we moved his "beloved" recliner upstairs to fit the tree in our living room and I was sure he would want that back...I guess he doesn't miss it that much...maybe it can stay gone LOL!

  • I took mine down, too.  I was tired of it feeling so cluttered.
  • I'm taking it slow.  Our real tree will come down this coming weekend, and I'll start packing away the fake one and the rest of the decorations.  But DH is gone to a bachelor party in Atlantic City the weekend of the 10th, so I have that whole weekend to myself for cleanup, too.

I'm not looking forward to the end of the holidays.  I really enjoyed them this year. :(  Three more days of Christmas carols on the Rose...

  • I am always so sad when i need to take my Christmas stuff down....  I guess this weekend will be tear down Sad
  • I'm ready to take ours down too but feel overwhelmed by putting it all away.  DH loves to have it on at night too.  I think it will be a project for New Years Day or this weekend.

  • I'm usually the one fighting to not put things away, but I'm ready and will probably take it down Wednesay. While I like having the tree lit at night, for some reason, I feel ready to move on. I had a great Christmas and couldn't have asked for it to be any better. However, for some reason, I'm not my usual Christmas-self that wants to keep everything out for as long as possible. I also usually listen to Christmas carols at least until New Year's but feel tired of them as well. This is so unlike me!
  • I sort of feel that way, but I also want to enjoy my tree a bit more since we've been away for several days.

I'm sure it's nice to have your space back though.

  • A slight confession here - we were lazy and never put one up!  I miss the one at my dad's, but I'm glad we don't have to go through the hassel of taking it down.
