New Years resolutions...what's yours?

I have a few.....

lose weight (so cliche, but I REALLY need to do this!)

be on the computer less

be a nicer person

go to church more (with Sophia)

I'll leave it at those - that's enough for me to work on!

Re: New Years resolutions...what's yours?

  • Make and use a cleaning schedule. I hate having to scramble to clean everything up when we have guests.  Hopefully this will be easier now that we've finished a lot of the work we were doing in the house.

Manage our money better.  It's not that our spending is out of control, but I would just feel better if we stuck to a budget more.

  • Great post!

    Here are mine...

    Health/Fitness Related:

    1. Cut out fast food--except Subway and chargrilled chicken sandwiches from Chick fil A. We don't eat a ton of fast food, but if I could, I'd eat a whopper every 2 weeks!

    2. Control my eating--I like this quote. "Eat to live, not live to eat!"

    3. Develop a healthy lifestyle--eating/exercising.

    Misc. Resolutions:

    1. Stop pulling out my eyelashes--I know, I know, you probably think I'm crazy, but its a stress thing--its like chewing your nails, which I find to be disgusting!

    2. Save more money!

    3. Get pregnant! :)

  • Mine is to be more healthy in my life.  That kind of emcompasses a lot.  I am hoping that by changing my lifestyle to be healthier that I will gain the benefits of losing weight and feeling good about myself.

I also want to be better about sending out birthday/anniversary cards to our friends and family.  I always seem to miss birthdays and end up not even sending a card.  Since we are going to be (hopefully!) moving away from the area, I want to make sure we still feel connected even if we are 1000's of miles away.  That includes trying to keep up with my somewhat new blog...I started a couple of months ago to keep friends and family up to date about our lives and kind of slacked off.

  • To take a true vacation...one that does not involve work in any way

    De-clutter my life...get rid of stuff I don't use/need

    Eat less processed food

  • Def to be more healthy.... I have always been overweight and I am at my biggest  I have ever been.   I want to be a role model to my children so hopefully they will be motivation for me!
  • I planned on answering that I really don't see myself making any resolutions as I have no idea what the New Year holds with the baby on the way, but I'm going to steal one from Sara's list and say be better about going to church as well, especially for the baby.  And not just so I can get him or her Baptized!
  • Since my new gym opens on Saturday. Get my butt to the gym and try to go more than 3 days a week.

Get all the leftover junk food out of the apt from Christmas

Refinish the old armchair I inherited

    Treat DH better.

Pay down debt as fast as we can.

    Find a house to buys

Start trying to conceive at the end of the year.

  • To stay calmer in stressful situations.  I imagine a lot of stress is about to enter our lives and I'd like to handle it as best as I can.

  • My resolution is to try to live more in the moment and just be "present." I'm hoping 2009 will be lucky for us with starting our family, so I guess I want to focus the time that we do have on each other, our friends, and family. I always feel like we're so busy or there are times when I feel like I'm coming home at 8 every night due to grad school, planning at school, errands etc. I guess I just want to make time for me/family every day and not feel so stressed or worried about things that need to be done.

That being said, I want to exercise on a more daily basis and continue to eat better.

Hopefully this will be an exciting year!

  • I'm hoping to become more healthy in general, this includes eating better, losing weight, and doing more exercising and toning.

I also want to get back on a good schedule, it's been messed up with the holidays and things in the last month.

I'm hoping for a good year at work too and trying not to let those stresses get to me.

  • 1. To be the best wife, mom and daughter I can.

    2. To be as healthy as possible, i.e. lose weight and also just in general.

    3. To be at church more often with Gunnar (no more excuses)
