Well, really, be careful everywhere! I just went for a bike ride probably around noon in broad daylight. I parked my car in the Bosque lot on Coors and Paseo and was only gone about an hour...came back and my driver's side window was busted out and someone had gone through EVERYTHING in my car. Luckily I didn't really have anything valuable in it (I remembered to turn around to go get my wallet out of my glove box, something I'd normally just leave...musta known something was going to happen). All that was stolen was an iPod/radio adaptor and the coupon book for my free oil changes.
Just watch out. I've been wary of that parking lot in particular for a while now, but thought that since it was the middle of the day and I'd only be gone a short while it'd be okay. Lesson learned!
Re: PSA: Be careful in the ABQ Bosque parking lots!
I am so sorry!
Paseo and Coors has the highest car break in stat right now. The parking lot by the target there is a high target area. Stats are showing during the week lunch hours are the worse... and yes, in broad daylight.
The West side is on an alert for car break in's. It's sad.
I've never parked in any of the Bosque lots on the west side. We only ever park in the Rio Grande Nature Center, the Alameda/Paqseo lot or the BioPark lot. We've never had problems in those.
I'm owndering if it's more concentrated to the west side.
Wow! That's horrible. I'm glad that you remembered to get your wallet.
It's crazy how bold people are getting when it comes to stealing.
I'm so kicking myself now. DH rides his bike to work sometimes and he's mentioned parking in that lot...I keep telling him not too b/c it's kinda sketchy, but do I take my own advice???! UGH!
Normally I park in the Alameda lot, but didn't feel like going up there, which is ridiculous b/c I live right between the two lots. Luckily Gieco is going to fix it for $50...guess i have some kind of extra coverage.
