Anyone else remember....

...the old Chuck e Cheese?  I was just reading a horrible article on Penn Live about fights between parents at Chuck e Cheese and it got me thinking back to the old Chuck e Cheese. I think it was in the Point Mall or at least in the Union Deposit area.  It was the best place in Harrisburg for b-day parties. I remember it being really dark and you enter the restaurant area and then you would go into a different part and that's where all of the games and stuff were. There was a stage and they would have 'animals" (mechanical) perform.

I haven't been to a Chuck e Cheese in years, but I have looked in at the one next to Gabe's and it looks so different (and bright!).  haha.  Anyone else remember the old one?

Re: Anyone else remember....

  • OMG that's a place I haven't thought about in ages!
  • Yes! I remember you could go under the stage in a maze/play area.  And in the back corner there was a "Michael Jackson" mouse that had a microphone and sung songs! I think the old one was a lot bigger then the one next to Gabe's. Or, perhaps it was that I was so much smaller!
  • I totally do!  I had my 3rd grade birthday party at the Chuck E Cheese in Harrisburg.  I used to love skee ball!
  • Anyone remember Show Biz Pizza in Reading?  That was my Chuck E Cheese like place when I was a kid.
  • I forgot about that maze!  Haha! The more I think about it, was it located where Gabe's is now?  It did seem so much bigger!!! I never had my party there (I was more into mini-golf, Olympic skating rink, bowling and Roy Rogers parties...haha), but I LOVED when my friends did. I loved going into the balls (sounds sooooo bad).  I don't even want to think how gross and dirty those things were...ick!

I have heard of Show Biz Pizza, but have never been.  If it sold pizza and had games then it wa smy kind of place.

  • I have a nearly 9-year-old brother = yes, I've been to the Rat's House lately. Stick out tongue  I do, however, also vaguely recall the original one.  I had a birthday party there!

Did you see the youtube video of the fight at our classy local CEC that just happened a few days ago?
