Taking a break

I'm not cut out for manual labor!  This morning I started cutting/ripping away the carpet by by baseboards in preparation for painting on Monday.  My hands are killing me! For the most part, it's come up pretty easily but I have a few small spots that are stubborn and won't come up.  I think they were painted to the baseboard.  Then I got the grand idea to completely remove the carpet on the stairs instead of just cutting along the edge.  I think there are beautiful wood stairs under the pad and tack strips. Those will come up at a later time.

I probably should not have sat down because I still have to sand and do some touch up spackling. Tomorrow I need to wash the walls.  I will be so glad when this project is finished!

Re: Taking a break

  • I know what you mean.  Wed and Thurs nights I spent on my hands and knees sanding  and priming our kitchen cabinet doors then almost all day yesterday and today I was painting them.  I'm so exhausted.  I have 5 cabinet doors that need a second coat then some fine sanding and touch ups to do tomorrow then I'm done!

I was so tired yesterday that during the 2nd period of last night's Bears game I leaned against DH and fell asleep!
