Is having an unusally light menstral period a symptom of pg?
(Please tell me no. This coupled with missing a pill last cycle has me totally freaked out.)

Re: (@) Symptom Question
Just one missed pill? I wouldn't freak out. Did you actually miss it altogether, or just take it late? Either way, it would be HIGHLY unlikely that you'd then ovulate and then get pregnant.
Just take a test if you're really worried. It will set your mind at ease!
Anything you can achieve through hard work, you could also just buy.
I took it the next day when I realized I had missed it.
I know it's uber unlikely, I wouldn't even be concerned if it hadn't conincided with an unusual period. I needed comfirmation (validation?)
You're right, though, I should get a test otherwise I'll wonder.
no. No AF is a sign of pg though.
Do you have AF now? When did you miss your pill? Remember that you have to miss your pill(s) for long enough to actually cause you to O first. So if you missed your pill the past few days and you are having AF now - you probably didn't have a chance to O before getting AF. Also, I think I had a similar scenario where I missed a pill soon before AF and then had a weird flow that AF - so maybe its just the inconsistency of the hormones that are making your flow wacky.
Dunno how your "weeks" go, but if you start your new pack this weekend, you could see your AF pick up its pace today through Friday still.
Also - I think smart women have to erase that idea of "you can still have AF during your pg" idea from their minds. You can't actually have your AF when pg. It makes no sense.
You can spot - which is that brown crud - during PG - but thats only because your cervix is really sensitive and full of blood. Think of it like a person who constantly gets nose bleeds. The membranes are easily disturbed. BUT, its very usual that you'll only see this after a doc exam ( if they touch your cervix) or after sex.
There are other cases where you "bleed" in early pg and its not m/c related but ime (from being on the 1st tri board) this seems to happen a ways after you missed your AF - say in the 6th week or later. The bleeding can be from a random cyst or blood "pocket" in the uterus that the embryo is squishing. Even so, I don't think this is heavy bleeding at all - more so just red streaks when you wipe.
In conclusion, as long as you are actively bleeding and its something that is filling up tampons/pads/liners, I wouldn't worry.
I'd agree, except my stepmom had regular periods for the first month or so of her 3 pregnancies. I've also seen Discovery Health shows discussing it. Sometimes biology is hinky.
Either way, all is well. I tested and I'm not pg (thank FSM). My AF has behaved in a predictable manner since I was 12, so having only wierd brown stuff come out for 2 days was strange. Alone, I'd have been mildly concerned something wierd was going on. Wierd AF coupled with missing a pill in December freaked me the hell out.
Thanks for the support, ladies.
