Squishies, I'm frustrated.

So, I've been nagging the phys. therapist about when I can start running again, and tonight he made me run across the room to see how it looked. No go, still too limpy.  But he said I can start using the elliptical, so I think I'll try to start doing a Couch to 5K routine on that, so that when I can start running again I'll be pretty well up to speed.  Not too bad, right?  I'm just such an impatient person, and I'm trying to behave, but I want to be back to normal already!!!!

Re: Squishies, I'm frustrated.

  • I can understand your frustration, but i think you're making awesome progress.  I actually really like using the elliptical and hope you will too!  Good luck with training for a 5 K.

  • Hang in there.  You don't want to over do it and hurt yourself even more.

  • I know it must be frustrating, but you will be up and running in no time!  I agree with Jenn...don't push it, though!!!
  • Did you run it by the PT?  If so, it sounds like a great plan. Keep up the good work!
  • I just reread that he already said you could, so it sounds like a good plan.  Start slow though and work your way up.  I understand your frustration, but your doing great!

  • Baby steps.  At least the elliptical is a start!  You don't want to push yourself too hard where you become injured again and won't be able to run for a much longer period of time.  Remember slow and steady wins the race.
