I'm freeeezzzzzingggg!

H thinks I'm crazy because I've been sleeping with sweatpants, wool socks and an extra blanket. I'm at work now and I have a sweater, a cardigan and a scarf on and I have goosebumps.  Pretty soon I'm going to put my jacket on too.  I can't believe it's going to get colder outside!

Re: I'm freeeezzzzzingggg!

  • I never know how to dress for work b/c it's FREEZING outside, but in the winter, my office is kept around a toasty 75 degrees. I am literally sweating, wearing corduroys and a wool sweather - ugh!
  • I know this is awful and it's only going to get worse. Friday is only going to be 18! My office is so cold as well...I think they either never turned the heat on or its set at 50.

  • Well those of us that work INDOORS should be thankful!  While you may be cold inside imagine those that work outside!!  DH works outside and he is so skinny he has no meat on his bones to keep his tiny butt warm!!  He was suiting up today like there was gonna be a blizzrd outside!!!  Anyone else's DH work outside??
  • I sleep with a wool hat on when it's really cold. The husband thinks it's super sexy (or not at all).

  • H just finished installing our wood burning stove and the house is so nice and warm now.  Living over water makes big issues with keeping the house warm, but I think we have it figured out.  The doggies have been laying infront of it since we started the fire.  Now to only find ways to keep from leaving the house.
  • I love woodburning stoves. I grew up with one and my dad has one now. Despite some run-ins with bad burns on my hands I still want one put in our next house really bad. They are way more efficient than fireplaces.
  • We got the stove to try and cut some utility costs in the winter.  Heating our place was costing a near fortune.
  • That's exactly why I want one! Wood is free... vs. our huge oil tank heater for our big old house. yeah. wood please.
  • I hear ya, Eva. I cringe whenever I think of an oil delivery coming. I always tell DH that we should set the thermostat waaaay lower and just wear sweatshirts and use blankets! He's not a big fan of that idea.
