Y'all alive? You haven't frozen to death, have you?
I hate to be the person to keep biitching about the weather, but Christ on a stick, it's cold. I don't feel too bad complaining since this is the coldest weather MKE has had in 15 or 20 years. This is only my eighth northern winter, so I've never experienced anything like it. The phrase "life threatening windchills" scares the bejeezus out of me.
My bus was 30 minutes late today. At least I was waiting in the car with the H, so it was like hangout time. I may take a different bus home to avoid the freeways. It took me over an hour and a half to get door to door this morning - and I live 7 miles from the courthouse! Gah!
Re: Elizabeth, kmpls
I'm alive. Wearing three layers, but alive. I'm starting to fear for my heating bill next month. I honestly don't remember the actual air temps being this cold since I was in elementary or middle school. And I grew up on the tundra up near Fargo.
Last night we had a snow emergency, so DH had to move his car. It wouldn't start. Then eventually, after about 15 minutes, it did start, but the tire was flat. Then, I had to follow him to where he had to park his car to bring him home because his chosen parking location is like a 10 minute walk from our house. Then, I made an Ale/Cheddar soup to warm us up that was thoroughly disappointing.
Good times all around.
I don't like pale ales either. The only one I've had that I liked was the Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. I've tried tons of others, and I can't stand them. Lakefront Brewery here in town makes one that people I know rave about, but I can't drink it. Pale ale cheese soup doesn't sound that appetizing.
We do get Summit here. I know other people who rave about it. Unless we have a craving for Shiner Bock, we pretty much only buy Wisconsin beers, but we should try some others.
I thought of you guys this morning! They sent Dave Price from the CBS Early Show to Minneapolis today. He was reporting from outside. I feel that's just torture, but he joked about how they should send him to Hawaii after all this (last year's winter weather tour ended in pheonix).
For our next move, I'm thinking Indianapolis is as far north as I wanna go...
Good luck with keeping warm!
I think they taste like mosquito spray.
Summit's Winter Ale is delicious, though.
Hello from the frozen tundra!
My H was laughing at me on the drive home as I was so bundled/covered up he said I looked like a lump sitting there.
I am making a pasta bake tonight - nice and warm with garlic bread.
It looks like it may warm up in a couple days but then.....more snow!!!
