If you married someone who lived in a different country and then you moved to that country to be with them (they were only ever visiting your country - nothing more) and then you left your spouse after about 5 years of marriage, would you move back to your own country or would you try to stay. In this scenario, you have a crap-tastic job that you have been trying to leave, but several very good/close friends in the new country.
Re: WWYD?
Depends on how much I liked the country and how close I was to my family back in my home country.
I'd probably leave
Can you share the context for this question?
For me, it would really depend on what country I was in. I don't think the good friends alone would keep me there; you could always keep in touch with them and make new ones back home.

Granted, there's a big difference between states and countries, but I have to tell ya. There is nothing here in VT that would keep me here...at least not yet. I'd return to NY in a heartbeat...where both my friends and family live.
