Hi guys!
I am looking for recommendations on where to buy New Orleans-y type art (paintings, wall hangings, photographs, that sort of thing). Thanks a bunch!

Re: New Orleans art
A lot of the art at Jackson Square is massed producd. If you see a "painting" that you like and the image goes around the edges then it is a digital print on canvas, probably cost them $60 to do. They usually sell for $200-$300. It's become very popular!
Royal Street is THE place to go. Go into lots of galleries and ask about the artist(s) if they can't tell you about the artist, move on.

I recently bought a couple drawings from this place off Decatur near the French Market called either the Crab Trap or the Crab Net, I can't remember which. I was looking for something to put in my kitchen and found these really neat drawings of tabasco bottles and other things (like shrimp, crawfish, etc) made into a fleur de lis. I got them framed at Michael's and so many people ask where I got them from. They are really unique.
