Ok, I have a question about my FI's business...I'm not gonna give the name of the company b/c I don't want it to look like i'm advertising......but FI and his partner want to add onto their business and I'm always trying to help with ideas. They own a personal training studio and want to expand and do a seperate section that is more of an open gym but you have free access to a personal trainer with your membership. So it would be like your regular gym and a personal trainer for a lot less. The trainer would make up a program every 4-6 weeks for you and you would do it on your own and they would be there if you need help with something or had a question and of course to oversee everyone to make sure they are doing the excersise right. Of course there would be others there so it's not 1 on 1 personal training like what they have no where you get the trainer to yourself. They were thinking of charging $39.99 a month for a commited year or 49.99 a month if you pay monthly.
Does this sound appealing? I want them to do a survey to see what others think but I figured I would conduct my own. So, does it sound like something of interest or not so much and if not what would you change or offer.
Sorry for asking, but business has been tough and they are trying to think of other, different ideas that are cheaper then the personal training for those that can't afford that. I get nervous with new business plans so I like others opinions.
Thanks in advance!!
Re: ? about business plan
Thanks for the replies so far....I need reasurrance before they go take out the business loan to do it.
Thanks again, It's so nerve racking going through this when the economy is the way it is, but you have to take chances right
and they are going for the smaller gym feel.... That's what their personal training studio is and they want to keep that feel. The whole gym could only have 300 members at most as apposed to the big gyms that have 5,000-6,000.
$40 for a session!!! That's high.....my FI use to work at LA fitness when he started and they charged that, he only charges 25 to 28 a session now depending on how many days a week you go.
I actually started with him while I was in college (yes it how we met, but he's not your typical trainer) it made such a differnce for me b/c I was such a slacker and had every excuse in the world not to work out and having the appt. made the difference and I partnered up with someone so it saved me $ and it motivated me b/c I wanted to do things as good if not better then my partner
