Re: Dr. Packin
He is a good Dr , very knowledgable ...however, i didn't care for his bedside manner...i always felt VERY rushed everytime i saw him...The important thing is that you got your foot in the door and you don't have to stay with him if you don't care for him..i started seeing him and switched to Dr. VanDeerlin b/c he was just a better fit for us (personality wise)
I am SO HAPPY you got an appointment!!! YEAH!!!

I have seen Dr. Packin twice and I have nothing but good things to say about him. I did not find him to be rushed at all. He answered all of my questions etc...
But I have to say that SJ fertility is awesome!!! The girls that answer the phones are wonderful, the nurses are great and return your phone call generally in an hour or so. I even had them call me to tell me that my test results are NOT back yet, which surprised me, they could have just called me when they WERE in and ignored me until then, ya know.
Their hours are good, but they only have certain hours for certain things but really worked with me when DH had to do his SA and he could not miss work etc.,. so the girl came in early to get the sample from me.
GOOD LUCK to you! I am so glad that you moved forward and are in SJ fert!!!!!!!
I've only had Dr. Vandeerlin so far, and I really love him. His demeanor is very calm and quiet, which is great for me because I'm usually stressed out inside and he makes me feel relaxed and in control of everything. GL!
I had my initial consult with Dr. Packin and I really like him. I have PCOS and he is very educated about the condition and I believe he has even published articles on the disease. He was super aggressive (which I was looking for) and took time to answer all of our questions and even joked around with DH when we were going over the info packet we had to fill out.
I only saw him that one time because I was working nights and I could never get an appointment with him during the days I needed to be seen. I saw all of the Dr's and never had a problem with any of them.
Like JinsWifey said, if you don't like him you can always move on to someone else -- the important thing is that you have your initial appointment and hopefully you will leave with a plan of action!
I was very lucky and for pg on our first monitored clomid cycle, so I am very thankful that I met with Dr. Packin -- everything he told me to do worked out great and now I'm typing this with my 1 week old newborn in my arm, all thanks to him!
Keep us updated & good luck!!!
i just finished up my third ivf cycle with sj fert. i have seen all of the drs. i had your initial opinion about dr. packin, but he seemed to be much better this time around. my favorites though are vandeerlin and sawin....both super sweet. i love the office, but if this ivf cycle is a bust, i have to move on for a second opinion.
good luck!
