I think I've cleaned mine once since we've lived here.
H has dinner in the oven and I can smell the stuff on the bottom of the oven burning.
He's also doing the dishes right now while I nest.
Me as a wife = FAIL.

Re: Do you clean your oven?
You're not a failure...you're taking a night off.
I couldn't even begin to know how to clean the oven. I think ours may be a self-cleaning model...who knows.
The one time I cleaned it I broke the light bulb in it and the pilot light went out when I dropped my cleaning rag on it. ?Thankfully it was wet. ?I was scared to light it again, and there was broken glass everywhere. ?It was a mess.
How is it that you got your husband to cook dinner and clean dishes? I dont mind making the dinner, but if you could let me in on the secret of how to get him to wash dishes, that would be super.
I usually do ours about once a year, too, so if you're failing as a wife because of that, so am I!
It's my least favorite job and I also usually break the bulb which adds to the mess. We also started using a lot of rimmed cookie sheets under anything that *might* make a mess.
I implemented the rule that one cooks and the other does the dishes. This works perfectly when I do the majority of cooking because I HATE to do the dishes.
I have no idea. ?I was reading a book and pretended like I couldn't hear him ask about dinner. ?He just took the initiative and made it himself. ?Trust me, it's not a common occurrence.?
Once, MAYBE twice a year if something spills and really gunks up badly in there. I don't have a self-cleaning oven, so I have to use that Easy-Off stuff. It works great, but is time consuming to get in there and wipe it all out. Yuck!
