I saw in a previous post that you are looking at Munire and Westwood furniture.  Which sets are you thinking about?  We are deciding between the Munire Urban and the Pali Salerno.

The Westwood Stratton was my frist choice, but it's too big for the room.  Have you checked out Norman's or Karl's in Philly?  They both carry Munire and Norman's carries Westwood, also.  If we can't find it cheaper online, we'll probably order from one of those two places depending on which set we choose.  Norman's delivery and set up was really reasonable ($90).  Good luck!

Re: **PhillyGirl**

  • We love the Westwood Stratton. I haven't seen it in person yet - but that scares me that you say it's too big for the room b/c we have a pretty small room. I know Buy Buy Baby carries it, I was hoping they have it on display in the store. I think we're going this weekend to look, so I'll have to check out Norman's and Karl's. do they have websites? We were going to go to Closic's in DE, too. they carry Munire.

I like the Munire Urban and Newport. My neighbor just ordered the Newport. I think she used a place in Cherry Hill - cant remember which one?

  • Both have websites, though they're not that great.

Our room is almost 10X10, so if yours is a little bigger, you can probably fit the Stratton.  We could if we really wanted to, but I'm afraid that you'll feel overpowered by the furniture if we do.  We saw the Stratton in Norman's and it is gorgeous!!!  The top drawers on the changing table swing out instead of pulling straight out, which I thought was really neat (doesn't take much to impress me, can you tell?).

I think we might try to stop by Buy Buy baby tonight, so I'll let you know if they have it on display.  There's also a USA Baby in Cherry Hill on Rt 70, but I haven't heard anything about them.

  • Cool, thanks!

Ha - I just looked up our floorplan. our room is 9'1x9'5. Our neighbor is using the same room and she got the Newport crib, changing table, and dresser. She said she measured, but she probably wont be able to fit a glider. We went into our model home yesterday and they have a crib and changing table in the room, but that's it. We looked at it, and we think we could fit the dresser and glider, too. but like you said - the room would be overwhelmed by furniture.

Are you getting 3 pieces? or just the changing table? We debated just getting the crib and changing table, but I'm afraid that's not enough storage?

  • That is our exact dilemma, too!!  The Munire crib is a few inches smaller than the Pali that we like, but the changing table and dresser are bigger.  The Pali set has a slightly bigger crib, but the other 2 pieces are smaller. All in all, we're dealing with about 3 inches, but it's still frustrating.

I had a meltdown about it on Saturday night.  Some family members are suggesting only 2 pieces, but I'd like to get 3.  Like you, I'm worried about storage (and availability if we need more pieces in the future).  Initially I think 2 would be enough, but I told DH no way am I hanging everything the closet as the baby gets bigger.  If the glider doesn't fit with the 3 pieces, we'll just put it next door. And if the 3rd piece doesn't fit well, I think we can fit it in the closet...not ideal since it's expensive stuff, but it's better than not enough storage.

If we do end up doing just 2 pieces, I'm going with a much larger changing table for the extra storage.  I think it's Gen-America (it's made by Stanley) that has a 7 drawer changing table that we'd get, but I wasn't crazy about the crib to that set.

  • I don't want to have to hang everything, either. Plus the closet is really small, too. We do have a larger closet in the spare bedroom. but drawers are so much easier for kid's clothes.

I'm about to just give up our guest room and put the baby in that room - then we wouldn't have an issue. But H's family is 2 hrs away and they stay over, so we like having the guest room.

  • I don't know if I'd want to give up the guest room, either, if I were you.  Both of our extra rooms are the same size, so we're stuck with choosing one or the other.  Our lucky guests get a shoe box, too!  The closets are a pretty good size, though.  Right now they have bi-fold doors that fold out into the room.  We're looking into replacing them with sliding doors so there's a few extra inches to play with.  I'm not sure how easy that will be since it seems (like everything else in this house) the opening to the closet is not a standard size and the doors that are not custom at Home Depot or Lowe's would either be too small or need to be cut down.

I'll let you know what I see tonight in Buy. Buy Baby.
