wwyd: a "loud" neighbor
We live in a condo and the other side has been pretty much empty since we bought our side, up until about a month ago. A lady moved in and her "boyfriend" comes to visit and stays with her on the weekends. The way that our homes are, our bedrooms are back to back. And well..we can hear them having sex! And I mean..it's bad, really bad..and really disgusting to have to wake up to and having it going on just a couple feet away from us. You would honestly think that it's some kind of porno. To make things worse..they will do it twice in a day..like at 2:30AM (i guess when they go to bed) and then again at like 9AM (i guess when they wake up) It's to the point where I'm like "WTF! It's disgusting" I don't care if they have sex..any normal person does it..but leave the screams, groans, name calling,etc..out of it.
I am so tempted to bang on the wall to let them know that we can hear them..or to even walk over when it's just her and to let her know..but how embarrassing..not only for her, but I would feel so uncomfortable!
WWYD?? I can not wait until the housing market gets a little better so we can sell and buy a new home!!

If it's interfering with your life, I would probably bang on the wall or just go talk to her depending on whether she looks crazy or not.
You could also leave her an anonymous note. ?She wouldn't know if it came from above, below, or next door. ?And that way you can spare her the embarrassing face to face conversation.?
We had a porno neighbor above us in my old apartment. Luckily for us, her lease was up about a month after we moved in, so it wasn't an issue for long. One night in particular I took the passive-aggressive route and slammed on the ceiling. Apparently that didn't work (probably because the music was so loud I could make out every syllable of Britney's "I'm a Slave For You" or whatever it's called. I eventually went up and pounded on the door, which they still didn't hear. When that got no response, I went back to the ceiling slamming, and eventually they got the hint.
Since your situation is a little more permanent, I'd definitely suck it up and walk over when she's there, as embarassing as it will be. Either that, or invest in very good earplugs.
I'd say if it's really a problem you can either make a complaint to your association/manager or call the cops. Being on an association board myself, a complaint to the board will only get a letter sent to your neighbors. Although, if you complain they may know it's you and make even MORE noise.
I doubt anything you do will make them change their lovemaking ways....sorry!
We used to hear our old downstairs neighbors fighting all of the time. One time the guy was screaming at the girl and slamming something against the wall. I started stomping on the floor and that just made him scream and slam even louder. After that, whenever we'd make a noise upstairs he'd bang a broom on the ceiling. He was an asss and they eventually moved out.

BTW. I am sorry you are going through this, but I cannot help but find it HYSTERICAL!!! Something you would only see on TV
