Anyone ever been to a B&B?

I was was curious if anyone has ever stayed at a B&B? I am trying to plan something "out of town" for our anniversary but all the B&B's that I found with a 200 miles radius seem kinda creepy....like rooms named after dead people from the 18th century....I would be curious to know your experiences if you have had any.....

  • Never have but that is what DH was thinking about doing. But then you are pretty close to other peoples rooms, but it would be a different experience

  • I've been to many; stateside and in the UK.  I love them, much more homey than hotels, IMO.  Many are historic homes and buildings, and fascinating.  Some have tours, depending on the history (for example, Lizzie Borden's home in MA) If you're not sure about the accomodations, make sure that your room has its own personal bathroom, also referred to as an "en suite."    It's not too much of a problem in the US, but across the pond a lot of places force your to share your bathroom with the other guests.  Have fun!
