I hate packing

I really do.  I'm always very bad at it.  I just pack practically everything I own and hope that I got everything.  ::fingers crossed::

Re: I hate packing

  • I would gladly pack to go to Mexico!!
  • It's very difficult to pack for some place very warm while you're freezing your girl parts off.

In my mind since it's so damn cold here, there is just no way that it can be 80 and sunny anywhere else.

  • Haha - again, I've never had a problem with that! I love packing for warm places when it's freezing, but I just get so excited to go away. We were supposed to be leaving for Jamaica in a few weeks, and it makes me sad that we're not going. Sad  but oh well, we need the $$.

I don't like packing, but I just end up throwing a bunch of crap in the day before. Unless I'm just packing a carry-on, then I plan outfits.

  • I over pack every time I go somewhere...On our HM we had to pay extra for my checked bag b/c I don't know where to draw the line.

Good Luck with the packing...It's such a pain.

  • I'm very good with the carry on.  It's tiny and small.  I know to pack just enough in case my luggage gets lost.

The big suitcase is another story.  It's so large and scary looking.  Then next thing I know it's full and I haven't even put anything buy shoes in it.

I did buy that pair of shoes from yesterday.  It was the H's idea.  They will come in the mail today, and he's hoping that it will distract me from the ever impending doom of flying tomorrow.

  • I usually have a separate bag for shoes : ) then the big suitcase is all clothes. I've tried to get better about packing lighter, but I'm an overpacker. My last 2 small trips, I just packed a carry-on so I was forced to plan outfits and even pack less toiletries. I loved not checking luggage, but they were only 3 day trips (to warm places) - so it wasn't that difficult.

Ah - so I think your hatred for packing has something to do with your fear of flying.

  • Perhaps, but I also hate packing for trips that don't involve planes.  I just never know what I'm going to want to wear seven days from now.  So I pack everything.  I would pack two suit cases except that the airline we are using charges 40 dollar per checked bag.  L.A.M.E!
  • I love packing! I always over pack though. Before our honeymoon all the suitcases went on the scale to make sure they weren't too heavy. Since we were island hopping there was no way I was going to pay the overage fee for every flight.

The shoes make it hard. The rest of my beachy clothes are so small that it does matter. But once you start adding wedges and heels I fill up the suitcase fast.

  • Eva please feel free to come over and finish packing for me. I started making a list of what else I need to pack and started getting so anxious I had to hide the paper in my desk under some wheat thins.
  • I'm good at fitting lots of stuff into a suitcase, but I always overpack and end up not even wearing half of what I bring with me.
