So last friday I had my first beta test and I was at 12. They told me I was probably m/c because they were so low. I had another blood test yesterday and they are now at 31 !?! He said it's good that they are going up, but seriously ... 31? Seriously!? I really don't think thats high at all - I was expecting at least in the hundreds. Your thoughts??
To top it all off - when I was at the OB on Wed he poked and prodded around and because of that I have been bleeding ever since. I'm thought after the doc called today with my levels I was going to be really happy, or really sad ...... now I just don't know what to think! He is going away so my next appt isn't until feb 11th. and the waiting continues ........
Re: Update on my beta levels
That does sound like your stuck in limbo, and its not really fair for you! Is there another dr. you can see at the pratice sooner than the 11th? You need some definitive answers. So sorry you have to go through this.
I agree with ethansbride, since the betas aren't doubling every 72 hours they should do another round of b/w asap and send you for an internal. If they won't and your insurance covers the ER then go to the ER and tell them about the spotting and they will probably do an u/s.
Ok - there are not other dr. in the practice, just him. At this point i'm not too fond of him for leaving me high and dry(and still bleeding from wednesday's exam) like this and I've been thinking of going somewhere else.
A little backstory with the "pregnancy"..... I was spotting last week (M-TR) then took a HPT on friday and got the BFP .... my ob didn't have any openings that day and suggeset I go to the ER which is where I got my first beta count of 12 and they told me I was having a m/c - better yet, they handed me my discharge papers that said "threatend abortion"!!! So wed I went to my OB and he did an internal u/s. the only thing he said was that i have a thick uterus wall which is a good sign of pregnancy.
Can anyone suggest a good OB that knows whats going on?
Your OB should have another Dr covering his pts while he is away! I wouldn't wait that long to find out what is going on..That is tortureous and unfair of an OB to ask!!!
I agree you should be getting some more betas drwn to see if they continue to double...I dont think an internal u/s would help b/c your betas aren't high enough yet to see anything..
I see Dr White at Garden State OB/GYN...
