I think we may be going to Hawaii for vacation this year but I'm torn on an issue. We went to Oahu last year for our honeymoon and loved the north shore. We found an amazing little beach that we loved. I want to try Maui this time but have never been there so I don't know anything about that island. With Oahu, we drove around the entire island and did all the touristy stuff so we know our way around there and what areas we liked and didn't like.
Has anyone been to both islands? What's Maui like?

Re: Hawaii
I have been to both. I like Maui much better, although I did enjoy North Shore Oahu.
In Maui, I prefer to stay near Wailea. It's way less touristy, which is key for me.
If you decide to go, let me know and I will send you some books on Maui.
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
ditto Kim. I like Maui so much better. My favorite island is Kauai. In Maui, I also like the Wailea as well, less tourists, less crowds. It is just so beautiful.
OK, so now you have opened up a whole new world for me. I will look into Kauai (sp??). We like the less touristy, more relaxing feel. We HATED Waikiki which is where we stayed last time.
Thanks sushi! I can't wait for the rest of the pics!

Then Kauai is definitely perfect for the more relaxing and less touristy feel. It is definitely my favorite of those islands.
