PSA: Shaw's Meat Sale Sat & Sun
Incase any of you didn't see this weeks flyer, Shaw's is having a two day meat sale. Looks like I will take a trip in to grab a couple things to stock the freezer :-)
Chicken leg quarters $.49 lb-I don't buy these often, anyone do anything good with them- I will just end up baking them if I dont find something better.
Ground Beef $1.99 lb- it doesn't say what percentage it is... hhhmmm
Eye round roasts are buy one get one free.
Not a ton, but a few good deals.
Re: PSA: Shaw's Meat Sale Sat & Sun
Thank you!! It's actually cheaper this week to go to Shaws and get the ground beef for me (I usually get the higher fat rather than lean and deal with pouring some $ away when I throw away the fat - it just TASTES better to me. And chicken leg quarters - in a crockpot with salsa? Or I bake them off, or make that pasta recipe that I post sometimes. I am definitely getting some though!
FYI - Stop and Shop has fresh pork butt roasts for $1.69/lb - going to do some crockpot pulled pork with that.
Market Basket has boneless/skinless chicken breasts for $1.99/lb (not great, but better than not on sale) and boneless chuck roast for $2.49 (for beef stew or chili instead of ground beef).
I didn't have a chance to go yesterday, but I do plan to stop tonight on my home from work at the one in Gilford. I wonder if they will do the turkey thing. I almost bought a turkey last week since they were only 49 cents a pound, but I dont have a pan big enough to cook a 20 pounder. I could totally handle half a one in my mega crock pot! Fabulous!
Thanks for sharing that!
