Hi all, curious if any of you have childrent (infants) and if you can recommend a great daycare or nanny agency that i might try. i'm only a little over 3 mo. (due may 28th) but we are new to Santa Fe and I'm getting a little nervous as i won't have much time off work before having to get a nanny.
i don't think that most places take infants under 6 mo so a nanny may be the best for the moment.
thanks so much for your help!
Re: childcare in santa fe...
I work in SF and checked with my co-workers who have kids. All of them either had spouses that stayed at home or had family members who watched the kids.
The only one who used a pre-school for a kid under the age of 2 uses Kids Under Construction, which is run by NM DOT and is located in tehir offices off Cerrillos/Alta Vista. They can be reached at (505) 827-5558 .
You might want to start by looking into the licensed child care centers. Most places will take kids at 6 weeks. It's not that most places won't take kids under 6 months, it's that the different age groups have different adult/kid ratios. The spots for kids under 2 years are harder to come by and therefore pricier. Here is the NM state listing of approved child care centers.... http://www.newmexicokids.org/Resource/CenterProvider/
