Hi ladies,
I had posted awhile back that my husband's job is relocating us to KC. We found out that the office is going to be in Zona Rosa, apparently they have office spaces there. I am thinking my daughter and i might be visiting him alot at work! At any rate, my husband and I are flying in for the weekend and are looking for restaurant recs. We are going to be looking for housing in the Liberty/north KC area, but staying in Overland Park, so seeing as much of the city as we can would be great! Thanks in advance.
Re: Restaurant Recs
The Legends http://www.legendsshopping.com/ is in between the places you are staying/visiting and has a large selection of restaraunts, the best of which is Jazz! Good shopping, too. There are a ton of places to eat and shop in Zona Rosa, too.
Here are some in the OP area. They have a bunch, especially around the 119th or 135th area. http://overlandpark.areaconnect.com/restaurants/
Hope that helps! You'll love it, enjoy your visit here!
I live in the Northland near Liberty and would like to point out that Legends is QUITE a far drive especially if you are house hunting up north and your husband is checking out Zona Rosa. From Overland Park it's not too far, (about 15-20 min) but from the Northland it's more like 40 minutes. Do you have to stay in OP? It seems like so far out of your way. Zona Rosa is about 15 minutes from the Liberty area and 119th and 135th are about 45 minutes from Liberty (on a good day without traffic on the Paseo bridge).
If you can, change where you are staying to downtown/Plaza area. There really isn't much in Overland Park that isn't in the Liberty area, it's just south. If you stay downtown you can check out the shopping and restaurants on the Plaza and in Westport and still be able to get up north in about 20-25 minutes.
If you want to check out Jazz! (which IS really good) go to the one on State Line just outside of the plaza area. It will save you about 25 extra minutes AND it's the original location.
How old is your daughter? You should try to get a carriage ride on the plaza one night if it's not too cold. With the holiday lights up I think you all would really like it.
One way to make the trip to Legends a bit shorter is to take 152 West to 435...we live 5 minutes from Liberty and it takes us 15-20 minutes to get to Legends.

Wow! I really had no idea... We typically take 435 but it's always taken us at least 35 minutes from our house... We're at 291/435 so I don't know if that makes a difference though. Thanks for the info!
