Christmas cookie question
In general how far ahead can you make cookies for the holidays? It probably varies by cookie type. I want to bake this weekend but it seems early.

I tend to do it late, but I don't make tons.
I've heard of people starting six months ahead, so a few weeks won't hurt. You can also make the dough ahead and bake later so the cookies are fresher.
