I need a $20 gift

for the name I drew at work. She is an older, widowed lady. Who loves to read a nd drink wine. Do you think it would be appropriate(sp) to give a coworker wine at the work Christmas lunch? Any other suggestions ???

It may not be good to give her wine at work, but maybe a Books-a-Million or Barnes and Noble gift card would be great since she likes to read.

I would think a GC to a good bookstore......or something like a certificate for a manicure might be nice??  I don't think I would give her wine....it may end up making her feel awkward to open that in front of people at work.....and you never really know what bottle to chose for others!

Don't you work for a small office (dentist?)?  I think wine would probably be OK. I worked for a group of surgeons and the doctors brought whiskey and things like that to our dirty Santa stuff. Here's a link to some good wines under 20.  There are also links to good wines for 10 and 15 bucks.  You could do a bottle of wine and a BAM gift card.  She could get a paperback for that.

if she likes wine, but you don't feel comfortable giving wine....you could always pick up a nice wine decanter or something like that?
