We're having goodie day here at work on the 12th and I'm trying to figure out what to make. It'll be something sweet I do know that much. I have some recipes at home in cookbooks and saved on my computer. Does anybody have any other suggestions?
Siggy coming soon....
Re: Goodie Day
Yeah I noticed that when I was trying to figure out what to make for Thanksgiving. I may consider that.
My mom has a Better Homes and Gardens magazine that has 2 recipes I want to try. One of them is something that has crushed oreos and dipped in chocolate on a lollipop stick. That has been calling my name since Thanksgiving. I may go with one of those 2 but I'm always open to more suggestions.
Something easy that always goes over well is a layered brownie thing..
Make a pan or two of brownies. Let them cool. Cut in to cubes or little chunks. Set aside. Make a couple packages of chocolate pudding and set aside. Get a tub of cool whip.
In a large bowl, put a layer of brownie. Next, a layer of pudding and last - a layer of whipped cream. Repeat until the bowl is filled with the layers. Looks best in a glass bowl so you can see all the layers, but definitely doesn't have to be.
It's nothing fancy, but it's goooood.
I was going to mention oreo truffles as well...yummy I'm also going to try a variation of that this year with nutter butters...I'm thinking you could make them the same except instead of oreo's use nutter butters.
oooo that brownie layer thing sounds yummy as well.
Cookie dough brownies. These are one of the best 'goodie' recipes I've ever made - everyone absolutely LOVES them. They are so outrageously awesome.
I do brownies from a mix - I usually use Duncan Hines. Then:
Cookie Dough layer:
1/2 cup butter softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
3 TBS milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1 cup chocolate chips
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugars (I've started using an electric mixer and it comes out better this way, than hand mixing it.) Beat in the milk and vanilla. Gradually add the cup of flour. It will become a moderately creamy substance. Then stir in the chocolate chips (obviously you can't use the mixer anymore!) Spread the mix over the brownies. Store the whole thing in the fridge until you're ready to serve them-they taste best when chilled!
These are my absolute favorite brownies....they are AMAZING!
I made them for Thanksgiving with walnuts...they didn't last long.
