Hi ladies -
I'm curious if your little ones are still sleeping in their cribs or have you moved them to toddler beds? If they are still in their cribs, have you decided when you'll make the transition?

Thanks!

Re: Mindy * Alisa * Karen * Marina

  • hmpt!  didn't ask me...

FWIW - we transitioned Jos after her 2nd bday and I'm thinking of doing soon for Nat...but again I'm nervous that she'll fall out.  ai!

  • Well, I am the worst person to ask because my guys sleep with us 1/2 the time or we sleep with them. They have always hated their cribs and prefer to sleep on the floor with pillows.

So we just got them those toddler Aero-beds. Most toddler beds (IMO) are still too high off the floor for them and the way the flop, Ben and Spence would spill on to the floor.  With the Aero-beds, there is a raised edge which contains them a little. And there is plenty of room for Mommy or Daddy to snuggle up with them, too. Actually, they are damn comfortable.

  • Yeah, I'm not a great person to ask either as Gavin ends up in bed with us every night when he wakes up...I wish he would learn to sleep through the night.

But, I have thought about it and think I would definitely wait until he is about 2 before I transition him.  I think then he might get the "big boy" affect and maybe, just maybe, stay put.

  • Oh may I add, I asked my bro to get Princess bed sheets for J & N for Christmas...I'm hoping that will help with the transition for Nat...altho I think she'll be ok.  And if she falls thru out, she knows the way to our room... right?

I thought Scott and I had the only kids not STTN. Wink

Damn - I hope I am not screwing up by doing it too early.................

  • Finley is still in her crib and sleeps great in there.  We are thinking of getting her a toddler bed for her birthday (the baby will be here 4 days later) so we can use the crib but I don't want to mess up her good sleeping.  I'm giving it a couple of months to see if anything changes, if not, we may just borrow another crib for the baby.
Married 6/20/06~Mommy to 2 beautiful girls
  • Adding my 2 cents too. ?We transitioned Jacob about a month after he turned 2. ?We have one of those convertible cribs. ?So I just converted it. ?It took probably about 2 weeks to get him to not get out of bed. ?He has been in his toddler bed for about 6 mos, and has only fallen out twice.
  • Chiming in late...

Julian is still in a crib.  Our crib converts to a toddler bed.  I am thinking of waiting until he is about 2.  I need to get guard rails. I was even thinking that when we transition, put the mattress on the floor ( on top of foam padding)until he learns not to fall out. , Then put him in the toddler bed.

  • Alisa & Mindy...Madi still isn't STTN. She's up at LEAST 2x a night.
