Horrible Roads

Maybe my head was in a hole, but were they predicting bad weather? It started snowing down here a little before 4.  We left here for PA for DH's family Christmas Party and had only made it 2 miles from our house in 25 minutes with several accidents and cars in ditches along the way, so we turned back. I called my parents and they said South 15 was shut down and there were numerous other accidents as they made the way to HIA.

So, now we're by the fire and I have a whole platter of Oreo Truffles meant for 20 for 2 of us! Let's hope I have some self-control!

Hope everyone stays safe tonight!

Re: Horrible Roads

  • I knew that there was supposed to be a clipper today, but I thought it was supposed to start much later than it did.  There were bad accidents by us too, but we went ahead and did some shopping but stayed off the typically bad roads and didn't leave our town.

It was definitely much worse than expected.  I heard on the radio that 70 was horrible too.

  • Yeah, I had also heard that 70 was a wreck. I don't know if you remember the roads by our house, but people were everywhere, it was terrible. Unfortunately, any way you turn you deal with steep hills, and the hill by the lake gets icy!

I did do some shopping this morning and found really good deals. I'm glad I got out early!?

  • Yay for good deals!  We shopped last night and I couldn't believe how empty the mall was and how great the sales were.

I remember the roads and I can definitely see how those hills would be treacherous.  It's good you stayed home.

  • I had on idea we were supposed to get the snow either.  My parents were down to visit and had to drive back up today (almost 3 hours north).  My mom called at 8 pm and said they had just gotten to State College - they left at 4:30, so they should of gotten there at 6!  She said they had to go about 35 mph on the highway and saw a few accidents.

    I hate winter.Tongue Tied
