Soooooooooo .... I really despise Walmart but had a renewed faith after getting my Cricut there on Black Friday (for an incredible deal). Last Sunday as I'm putting up our fake Christmas tree I realize it's trashed and can't be salvaged so we went to Sam's for a new one. We get a great 7.5' pre-lit tree for what we think is a good price ($199). Well, my neighbor decided she wants one so my hubby takes her this past Sunday. They had me check stock online and I see that if you have it delivered it's $149 but at my store it's $199. So I decide to see what the price is at other stores. I find out that a store less than 20 miles away has it for $149!!!!!!!!!!!!! I email Sams and their response "sorry for any inconvience. Have a great day."
Seriously!?!??!?! I'm VERY tempted to go buy it in Stanton and return it in Irvine (since it's already up in my house). I couldn't believe they didn't say anything else but that! I'm not overly surprised that they didn't offer to refund my difference but I'm floored that they didn't say more than "sorry."
Now I remember why I hate Walmart/Sams.
Re: I remember why I hate Walmart
Wow!!! You too??? Omg, I hate walmart! Specifically the one in Anaheim off the 5! First of all, I feel like I need a passport to enter the store...(no joke)... the inventory is all over the place, the checkers are slower than molasses, god forbid you have a question because you are on your own, my MIL witnessed a woman get her purse stolen by a bum, and the parking lot looks like the TJ border. Kids running around the parking lot or riding bikes, parents chatting without care, people ditching carts full of boxes, people selling corn and shaved ice and one lame security guard chatting on the bench.
H, who is a penny pincher, refuses to go to Walmart. We stick to Target!
I go to the one in Foothill Ranch so it's not quite so bad but it's still bad. The people there are slower than molasses, I have to agree.
My husband doesn't mind it as much as I do. He called his mom first thing Black Friday and said "you're never going to believe this. Kim did 2 things she never does today ... a) she went to a black Friday sale and b) it was at WalMart!" My MIL didn't know which she should be more shocked over.
I actually need to go there tonight as they have some super cute Christmas shirts and Target doesn't have anything. *grumble*
