Here we go again...

...it's winter and thus my truck battery refuses to hold a charge.  Yup - remember a year ago when my truck was dying all the time?  Yesterday I met a bunch of upstate nesties at the mall and then we headed west to Syracuse for an upstate nestie gtg.  Well 8 hours later I come back to a dead truck in an empty mall parking lot.  Fun.  WTH?  I've had it checked and checked again.  It's something about the cold weather/remote starter but no one can figure it out.  The AAA guy told me yesterday I was his 3rd dead car with a remote starter that day.  What good is the starter if you can't use it to warm your car?

Re: Here we go again...

  • Oh, no! Not again. I am really sorry that happened. UGH.
  • Oh no!  It's crazy to think that the remote starter is causing it in lots of cars - you'd think that would be a glitch they wouldn't let happen!

  • i know my remote start drains my battery more than normal (ex: i just had to replace the battery on my 3yo car) but having as much battery trouble as you have is definitely not normal! ugh, so fustrating
  • Do you have a chevy? Bc I have read some information on that a while ago when we got our Malibu (hasn't happended to us yet) how this can happen at times.

I sure do!  She's a beautiful, big, Chevy Silverado!  I love my truck and she's only 5 years old so that's why this is sooo frustrating.  I'll have to try to research Chevy specifically and see what I can find.  Thanks!!
