so what does this mean to you?

So I am following up on the Purdue job I applied for.

I actually ended up talking to two of the higher ups at Purdue about the job and they were a great help about explaining the extension program operations and how the application process works (they've already had people interview and they were not what they were looking for).

I had an email in to the county director to talk to him. I was thinking it was going to just be a returned phone call. The position is new and it sounds like they don't know what direction they want it to take.

The general process is an interview with HR at Purdue and then an interview with the board of directors for Marion County.

The county director wants to meet for lunch next week, which will also include the program director.

What would you make of this?

Move along, nothing to see here.....

Re: so what does this mean to you?

  • It sounds like they are impressed with your stick to it avness (as my mother would say) and that they want to chat with you about the direction they want to take the position and see if it matches with you and your goals/personality, etc... In other words very, very positive!!!!
  • THat is a great opportunity!  I'd come to lunch with lots of questions AND ideas about what the position could do, and of course being really open and supportive to what they have to say.  Put your portfolio in your bag, smile lots and ask lots of questions.
