at what age can Jordyn get meds...

she's been having this darn cold that wont go away and lastnight she started coughing! uuggh! my poor baby!

Re: at what age can Jordyn get meds...

  • No over the counter cold meds for children under 2. Poor Jordyn, I hope she's feeling better soon!
  • I wouldn't do it. I have only given Katie Benadryl-recommended by her pedi. She gets pretty bad allergies sometimes. But just the itchy/wattery eyes and runny nose.
  • When Celeste is sick with a cold I use the cool mist humidifier in her room at night, put Vicks for babies on her back and on the soles of her feet then cover them with socks before going to sleep. Unfortunately she seems to have inherited post nasal drip from me so when she wakes up at night she has a coarse sounding cough but clears up once she is up and about. I keep part of her mattress up but since she moves a lot during her sleep I don't think its even helping her.?
  • maybe you could give her a lollipop to help soothe her throat --a lot of cough medicines are just sugary syrup anyway-- and the lollipop will help her mood so she doesn't feel so cruddy. it's not the most advanced medical advice, but perhaps it will help!
