Boarding your pets at Pete and Mac's

Hi Ladies,

Have any of you used Pete and Mac's to board your dog or cat? We have a reservation at the one in the Northland (off of I-29) and I was hoping to hear some good news about that facility.

 Thanks!

Re: Boarding your pets at Pete and Mac's

  • We have only used the OP Pete and Mac's, but we have liked it there. Our dogs have boarded and done daycare there numerous times over the past 7 years and we haven't ever had a problem. We always felt they were safe and the staff was responsible. Hope that helps!

  • Thank you!  Our plans for our dog to stay at a family member's house fell through and we are stuck with either boarding him or driving out the CA with him. We are visiting the facility this weekend to make sure we are comfortable but I am feeling really guilty about it!  I appriciate hearing your expierence!
  • Well enjoy your trip. I try to tell myself that my dogs are on their own vacation and enjoying themselves!! I have called to check in too- so do it if it makes you feel better. You won't be the first neurotic pet parent to do so! :)

  • I dont know about the other Pete and Mac's, but I have not heard good things about the one here in Lees Summit. We always board at Camp Bow Wow and love it! Our dog, Leia, gets so excited when we drive up to the building and she is ready to play the instant we walk in the door. Hopefully you feel comfortable with the facility and the staff when you check them out. Good luck.

  • I board my dog at the Pete and Mac's in Lee's Summit multiple times a year and wouldn't take here anywhere else.  The staff is so friendly, the facility is kept in amazing condition and their emergency vet is my regular vet.

Millie (my dog) gets very excited for her "vacation" when we walk in the door and doesn't look back once.  I've left her up to 12 days, during our wedding and honeymoon, and she seemed great when I picked her up.  For long stays like that however, I do daycare a few times so she's out around other dogs all day instead of a short amount of time.  They also fill out cute report cards to let you know who your dog played with, if she ate her food and what her social skills were like while there.  You also get a free bath if your pet stays over 3 days.  Another time I had her groomed while she was there and she came out looking beautiful!

I highly recommend the Lee's Summit location, and have heard nothing but great reviews about the other locations as well.  They might be a little more expensive than other places, but it's well worth it to know she's happy there, the staff takes great care of her and if something where to happen, they would contact my husband and I, and take her to her regular vet.

  • Thank you all for your replys,  Finn had a great time at the Northland location.  They took good care of him and I have one sleepy puppy on my hands after 5 days of playing with all the other pups.
