Why is Wachovia so slow

or is it the retailers who are slow. It has taken them 2 weeks to pull the money out of my account.

Re: Why is Wachovia so slow

  • I've never had a problem with Wachovia being slow...maybe its the shop you bought something from.  Was it online?
  • no it was from pro golf here in auburn. I got Dh a painting from there 2 weeks ago and it just cleared today. Maybe it was the store...
  • I have never had any problems with them being slow either.  It probably is the store.
  • It's not Wachovia, it's the merchant.  Wachovia can't control when the merchant sends the sale in.  Sorry, hopefully it will post soon.  (I am a manager with Wachovia.)

  • Good to know it's not Wachovia to blame, because in the last few weeks they have they have made some major blunders with our accounts, so much so that we are considering switching banks. Here are just two examples:

I opened another checking account to use as a somewhat savings/emergengy/Christmas/catch all fund, which was to be tied to our regular checking account online. They did not tie them together as promised, I had to select the option to show it online myself, but the worst part was then they cancelled my personal bank card when the other account's card was activated. These accounts are not even related!

The real kicker was when a "new and clueless employee" (quoting the Wachovia customer service agent) retracted a payment I had made and that had already been processed by the company. In short, I paid a bill, the company received the payment, and then an idiot from the bank for some apparent reason contacted the company and took the payment back! This was completely unauthorized and caused not only a hot mess with the company, but weeks of headache, nerves, anger, etc. for me and potentially could have negatively affected my credit score - the agency contacted me to let me know what had happened and fortunately were understanding and removed fees and charges associated with the bank's actions. I will praise Wachovia for handling it professionally and promptly, but it was still completely their error and the potential effects could have been so detrimental I am still very nervous. We're sticking with them despite this incident because I would still like to believe in loyalty in business relationships, but at the next incident DH says we are switching. I hope that the merger won't have any negative impacts - I'm already excited about having to get new account numbers, cards, checks, etc. :(
