Many of you knew I was doing this. I'm officially finished, as of last week. I'm very happy with my results. There's a bit of cosmetic bonding that we're going to do but that comes probably after the first of the year. Anyone, incuding those of you who mentioned your mothers wanting to try this...GO for it. It was easy, painless and I got the results I had hoped for without a metal mouth!!
Re: Invisalign update
I honestly believe I would NOT have been a good candidate for the metal braces, as easy as this was for me, at times they bothered me just by being there. I was so glad to be able to remove thenm whenever I wanted to.
glad things went well!
i remember you posting about them originally, but how long did you have them for?

I think that is my mothers 2009 goal!! She has been wanting to close the gaps in her teeth for a while.....so now I made her promise to go and have a consultation
I am happy that worked out for you! It sounds like it was not that bad of an experience.
If it's just spaces, your teeth should move VERY quickly like mine did. Check out invisalign.com for a dentist close to you. Your consultation will most likely be free, mine was. He also told me that if I had gone with metal braces, in my particular case, it would have messed up my facial structure...something the other dentist failed to mention. I wish I had done this years ago, I had always been unhappy with my smile and I'm really liking it these days.
after i saw this post earlier i googled my dentist and according to his website they do invisalign. i'm going in for a cleaning this month so i may ask him about it while i'm there.
how would it have messed up your facial structure?

I'm not sure how it would have messed up my facial structure, however the orthodontist who was talking to me about the metal would have moved all my teeth together, the Invisalign dentist told me that procedure would not have worked well for me due to bridge work in the back. We moved the front teeth together and left the back ones alone due to a bridge that was back there that would have been compromised had we gone the normal route. He was the first doctor who made sense to me because I was concerned about what might happen to my bridge too. He's a cosmetic dentist too so maybe he's trained a little differently...I may ask him at my next visit exactly how the metal would have caused me problems. Right now, I'm just really happy with the outcome. All in all it was sooooo easy.
