Went to the doctor today....
My cervix has completely thinned..I have lost my mucus plug....I'm 2cm dilated, and Bentley's head is down really low, apparently he's ready to come out. He is 6lbs. 7Oz., they were surprised by how big he is compared to how small my belly is, and said that its no wonder I'm so miserable, he's cramped in there big time. Ha ha
His feet are way up in my rib cage, thats why I can't ever get comfortable. Anyways, my doctor said if I haven't gone into labor on my own he would induce me on the 22nd. So we'll see what happens. I would like to experience going into labor on my own, but he says I'm so tiny that he recommends induction for me by then. We would be home for Xmas though, so thats nice.

I know, I told DH we need to go santa shopping, no way is my child having a 1st xmas without santa visiting! I'll have to go on a search for a xmas stocking too. Things are getting busy fast!
I won't get him but 1 or 2 things considering he will only be a few days old, but he has EVERYTHING needed already...any idea's on what to get?
I bought a Elephant webkins on black friday for him just because it was so cute and his nursery is in Bama stuff, I guess I could put that under the tree, and maybe a xmas outfit....I dunno. I seriously have more than enough of what he needs already though. Tons of clothes, shoes, 5 million blankets, toys, bumbo seat, even a jumparoo thingy that won't be used for a while, lol.
Well I buy DH and I an ornament for every year, I planned on it being a "family" ornament when Bentley got here. It's a tradition I started for us, lol.
I bought us one for when we were just dating, it was just a cute lil couple ornament. It has our name and the year. Then last year I got us a ornament that is in the shape of a diamond ring, it says "engaged" with the year. This year I bought us one that is actually a "Hallmark ornament" that is a car with a tree on top, the car tag says 1st xmas, and in the back window of the car is our picture. I was planning on getting one next year that was a couple holding a baby. So I'll have to run to the mall and grab that one soon, but my mother has the tradition of buying us Hallmark ornaments every year that we pick out. I have about 18 of them, my brother and sister have one for every year of their life, and she will also do this for my son, but the ornament will go on her tree. Otherwise I would do that.
But I did think about that. I'm stumped on idea's though.
What about a book...like maybe Twas the night before Christmas...then you could start a tradition of reading it to him every year? Lol that is the teacher coming out in me

Every year since we have been dating. Our first one was a Hallmark ornament that were 2 flamingos making a heart shape, next year was a teddy bear down on one knee holding out a diamond ring to another teddy , the next year was a bride and groom with our names and wedding dates, last year was a Hallmark ornament that was a house with a key and in the address plate 2007 because we bought our first house, and this year it is a snowman with Mickey Mouse ears that we bought when we went to Disney World for our anniversary. I really enjoy doing it and it will be fun to share all the different meanings with our future children

we're not getting Avery anything - saving our money! Grandparents will take care of any gifts for her

Good luck Ashleigh!!! I agree, let the grandparents spoil him, ha ha. I'm sure he has enough like you said and I would just rest (as if I know anything about childbirth!!!) as I'm sure you're going to need it.
