I love Scholastic!

They are having a warehouse sale in the Bham area and I found out about it through a classmate. It's for teachers, parents, volunteers, etc that deal with book fairs :)

Since I'm in the 5th year program, I am working up on building up a supply of picture books, chapter books, etc-and I also bought a Christmas gift for my student I tutor.

I ended up with 15 books for 55 dollars...that's around 3 dollars a book! The very most I paid for one individual book was a hardcover that was 8.50 instead of 16.50.

I love deals :)

  • Oh major score!

I have tons upon tons of childrens' literature.  I had to organize them all so I would know what I had.

    Exciting :)

  •  Yep! :)  I had a math final, and a take home final due Monday.  I had a big paper and portfoilio due last Friday though for my Literacy Block requirements, and my one remaining class did not have a final. It was a weird thing-I don't think I have ever been done that early before.

Honestly the only reason I didn't have a final in two of them is we were so swamped and the professor was too that I am certain she didn't want to grade anything else! lol. She's already told us she needs 'more time' and we don't get portfolios back until next Monday if we want to see them.

  • Nice! Sounds like you had lots due at once though, which stinks. At least you're done nice and early though!

Are you out teaching next semester or are you still on campus for classes?

  • I'll be on campus next semester. The first half is all classes, and the last half of the semester is out observing /helping our cooperating teacher to teach.

(we did that this time, too, for the month of November.)

Next fall I will be an intern and be a 'real' student teacher. Scary scary stuff. LOL.
