Anderson Jockey Lot

So I've heard about this place in jokes, in stories, etc etc.  Having been here more than a year I figure it's high time I check this flea market to end all flea markets out... (I'm not a flea market regular, but what the hey!)

Anyway I think I'm going to go check it out this weekend.  I've done my primary Christmas shopping but I'd like some more little inexpensive gifts to wrap to fill up the space under the tree :)

Have any of you been to the Jockey lot?  Anyone want to go with?

Re: Anderson Jockey Lot

  • I wish I'd seen your post sooner.  What did you think?  It's definitely an experience.  Chris grew up 5 minutes from there.
  • OH my goodness it was such an experience!  We were there what seemed like an eternity (though probably only an hour and a half) and I don't think we put a dent in the place.  We had already started feeling like we were seeing the same things over and over though.  Anyway it something!  I felt so dirty when I got home haha.  Though I did buy a knock-off coach purse for MIL and a candle for DH's grandma.  I would go again, but never by myself!  I was glad DH was there with me.  I totally almost came home with a puppy though!

  • HAHAHAHA.  Our running joke is that if you go to the Jockey Lot, you'll come home with a puppy.   It is pretty nasty.  I prefer the "yard sale" section so that you see more random stuff and less imported junk.  I haven't been in years.  We'll have to head out there sometime in the spring.
  • I don't think I even made it to the yard sale section.  I'll have to have you show me around.

  • We always joke its the only place you can buy a puppy, some socks, and cell phone cover and charger, and of course your silk flowers all within 10 steps!  Definately an experience!
  • Haha are you from the area?  You should join us at our next Upstate GTG!  I don't know when that will be, probably sometime in Jan though.

  • I'm seeing this very late.  But I actually really like the Jockey Lot.  We don't go much but it's definitely a cultural experience!
