Just wanted to introduce myself and say I'll be moving to San Antonio in Feb 2009. I'll be visiting next month from 5-16 January to purchase our home and check out the area.
?Any recommendations on great things to do while I'm there, restaurants I shouldn't miss, or neighborhoods to check out for a mother of soon-to-be-three small children?
Sorry to bombard you with so many questions, I'm just so excited. This will be my first time back to teh states in 8 years!!

I really have no idea yet where we want to live yet, I've never even been to San Antonio. All I know right now is my husband will be working at Lackland and I probably will to (at least on weekends for my Reserve time). We'd like to live within a 30-35 minute commute from there I guess.
I'd?like?a nice neighborhood near a good elementary school.
I have two weeks in January to explore the city, figure out where we want to live - oh, yeah and buy the house.?

Just giving y'all an update on our progress. ?We've been talking to our realtor and have decided (like you guys already suggested - gotta love The Nest) we'll be moving to the Northwest side of San Antonio - near Sea World.
I'll be in town the week after New Years to buy the house

I'm bringing my MIL with me to buy the home and this is our first solo trip together- any recommendations on places to go, eat, and things to do while we're there?
She's a huge crafter so if you know of any craft fairs or flea markets in town that would be great
